NBI Chief Matibag made this recent statement about Sen. Bato dela Rosa
National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Director Atty. Melvin Matibag believed that Senator Ronald Bato dela Rosa is about to be arrested.
In his interview on the program “#MEMO” with veteran journalist Korina Sanchez on the Bilyonaryo News Channel, Matibag shared updates regarding the search for the fugitive senator.
The NBI Chief supported the statement made by Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Jonvic Remulla that the chances of locating Dela Rosa are increasing.

The DILG has also placed a P50 million bounty on the senator for information that could lead to his whereabouts. Previously, Remulla said that a group is protecting Dela Rosa and that 10,000 people might die once authorities use force to arrest the Senator. With this, Dela Rosa was given one week to surrender.
“You yield. Sumuko ka. Kung puwede mong mapasuko, e di sumuko ka. And so, Sen. Bato Dela Rosa, has one week to surrender at pinaghahandaan natin iyan,” Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez, Jr. said in a previous statement.
Matibag has repeatedly called on Dela Rosa to surrender voluntarily, in an orderly and peaceful manner, to face the arrest warrant issued against him by the International Criminal Court (ICC).

The NBI confirmed that its tracker teams and surveillance operations are ongoing, focusing on potential hideouts of Dela Rosa after he was no longer found at the Senate.
Matibag also warned that anyone proven to be assisting or harboring the senator could face charges of obstruction of justice and harboring a criminal.
“We are looking at it positively, and tingin po namin malapit na po eh,” the NBI chief said about arresting Sen. Bato dela Rosa, adding that the P50-million bounty will help them get more information about the lawmaker’s whereabouts.
