Teacher Faces Probes for Maltreating 2 Students in Pangasinan
A teacher in Mapandan, Pangasinan is being investigated over alleged maltreatment of two students.
The teacher is being investigated after allegedly ordering students to pass around a bottle of soft drink and spit into it before making two classmates drink it inside the classroom. The viral video showed students passing the bottle around and spitting into it. Some students could be heard expressing disgust and disbelief.
Two students stood at the back of the classroom while the teacher scolded them. It remains unclear what made the teacher angry. The teacher later left the room, but the incident continued.

One student shouted for the others to stop. Despite this, some classmates handed the bottle to the two students and made them drink the soft drink. The classroom soon filled with shouting as the two students drank from the bottle.
After a few moments, the two students rushed outside and vomited into a nearby plant box. Their classmates followed them and tried to help. Some encouraged others to pat the students on the back, while another said their teacher should be informed about what had happened.
When the two returned to the classroom, one was still gagging and appeared to be crying while covering their face with a shirt. Their classmates spoke to them about the incident, while another student reminded everyone to address the situation calmly instead of shouting.

Mapandan Councilor Percival Biagtan said he had already contacted the Municipal Social Welfare and Development office and the Department of Education Schools Division Office 1 Pangasinan following the incident.
Biagtan said his main concern was the safety and well-being of the two students. He also asked that they receive medical checkups as soon as possible. He left the appropriate action against the teacher to the Department of Education.
“Ang pangunahing concern ko ay ang mga bata. Kailangan nilang maipacheck-up sa lalong madaling panahon. Kung ano ang gagawin sa teacher, sa DepEd ko na ito ipinapaubaya,” Biagtan said.
The social media users expressed their reactions to the incident:
