Baby Doll Juby Calls Backlash Over Donny Pangilinan Dream a “Learning Experience”
Juby of the girl group Showtime Baby Dolls has finally spoken about the criticism she received after telling a story about a “dream” involving actor Donny Pangilinan. She said the experience hit her hard but taught her a lot, Inquirer Entertainment reported.
Juby addressed the issue during the group’s guest appearance on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” on Thursday, November 5. When the host asked what she had learned from the backlash, she said it “hit me on my rock bottom” and led her to many realizations. Because the group has only just started, she described the episode as a learning experience for her and her groupmates.

“Now that we have this platform, siguro po magiging extra careful po ako and kami moving forward,” she said. Juby also shared that the management teams of both sides had already talked and settled the matter privately. She added that the group is now focused on its concerts and other projects.
The controversy began after Juby shared on “Gandang Gabi Vice” that she had dreamed of an intimate encounter with her celebrity crush, Donny. Fans of the actor called out the remark and said it was wrong to sexualize him on national television, according to Bandera.
Donny earlier said he was not offended but felt “awkward,” since they are on the same network. He also called it a learning experience for everyone and wished the group well, noting that it was one of their first interviews.
His father, Anthony Pangilinan, also weighed in through an Instagram story. He said Juby did not seem to have meant to offend anyone, but that the handling of the follow-up question and the edit could have been more responsible and sensitive to certain audiences. He hoped it would be a learning experience for both new and seasoned people in the industry.
With the matter now settled between the camps, Juby’s message to fans is that the Baby Dolls will be more careful with their words as they build their careers in the spotlight.
