Claudine Barretto Tells Persistent Admirer With a Partner to Stay Away, Says Boss Toyo Is Not the Man

Actress Claudine Barretto has a firm message for a man who kept pursuing her despite already being in a relationship. In a Facebook post on Saturday night, November 7, she said she is open to friendship with anyone but will never be the reason another woman gets hurt, Abante TNT reported.

According to the report, Claudine said that if a man has a partner and is willing to leave her just to win her over, that is a dealbreaker. “Sorry but I will never be the cause of another woman’s pain,” she wrote. She added that she had already told the man to avoid her, saying his messages had become bothersome and worrying, and that she did not want to have to tell his partner about it.

The actress did not name the man in her post. That quickly led some netizens to guess who she was referring to, and many began tagging businessman and content creator Boss Toyo, who has been seen with her recently.

Claudine then posted a separate clarification. “I just want to make it clear na hindi po ang kaibigan kong si Boss Toyo ang tinutukoy ko,” she said, adding that she was only expressing her feelings. She also apologized to Boss Toyo and his partner, Jhoy Maldo, and asked the public to stop tagging the two because she did not want to cause trouble for their family.

The speculation came a week after Claudine attended Raymond Gutierrez’s “The New Nocturnals” Halloween event at The Peninsula Manila with Boss Toyo as her escort. She dressed as a Japanese geisha while he went as a Yakuza, and she told Abante at the time that they are just friends.

In her follow-up, Claudine said she made the original post precisely so the man pestering her would stop. She urged followers not to be quick to judge and not to fuel guesswork that could damage a family, ending with a thank-you and a blessing to her supporters.

Her two posts show how quickly a vague social media message can be pinned on the wrong person, and why she chose to set the record straight right away.
