Buboy Villar Opens Up About the Time Rosmar Tan Gave His Family Food and Shelter
Comedian Buboy Villar has revealed that content creator and skincare CEO Rosmar Tan was among the people who came to his rescue when he hit the lowest point of his life. GMA Entertainment reported on Sunday, November 8, that he shared the story while Rosmar sat in as a guest on the YouLOL podcast Your Honor.
Buboy co-hosts the show as “Vice Chair” alongside “Madam Chair” Chariz Solomon. Rosmar and fellow content creator Miss Tsung were the resource persons in the session titled “In Aid of Big Money: Yumayaman, Yumayabang?”, which tackled bashers’ claims about their wealth, GMA Entertainment noted ahead of the episode’s November 7 release.
“Ako saksing buhay na natulungan ako ni Rosmar,” Buboy told the panel, saying he personally witnessed how she helps others. The 32-year-old businesswoman was seen in tears as he spoke.
The former child star recalled a period when work as an actor was not steady and money was running out. He said Rosmar let him stay and sleep at her restaurant, and that he felt deeply embarrassed because he was already a known artista at the time. According to Buboy, Rosmar was then a friend of his ex-partner Angillyn Gorens, the mother of two of his children.
“So, kinain ko ‘yung pride ko na shucks! Kailangan ko gawin ‘to para sa pamilya ko, kasi wala kaming choice,” he said. He thanked Rosmar for providing food and a room for his family, and added that when she opened her Rosmar Massage business, they were even given free massages.
Buboy described Rosmar as someone who helped without hesitation, telling them she would assist in any way she could. He then addressed her critics directly: “Ako saksing buhay, mabait si Rosmar at hindi niya deserve ‘yung pagba-bashing n’yo sa kaniya.”
Rosmar, a TikTok star and businesswoman, has faced repeated online criticism over her lifestyle and riches in recent months. Buboy, meanwhile, now has a son, Kyrie, with his current partner Isay Sampiano.
