Pres. Bongbong Marcos Speaks on Gov’t Efforts To Help Filipinos amid Oil Crisis
BONGBONG MARCOS – The President assured the Filipinos of the efforts of the government in helping the people amid the oil crisis.
Today, March 17, another bigtime oil price hike is set to take place in the Philippines. Several fuel stations have already confirmed their staggered increases in the costs of diesel, gasoline, and kerosene amid the Middle East tension.

The oil price hike today marks the second time that a bigtime increase on fuel prices take place since the war in the Middle East began. The tension that involves the United States, Israel, and Iran is entering its third week now.
A little over two (2) weeks ago, U.S. and Israel launch joint airstrikes against Iran which led to the death of many of its officials including its Supreme Leader. United States President Donald Trump previously warned Iran that a much harder attack awaits them in case they will halt the global oil flow. However, several countries including PH feel the impact of the tension.

The Department of Energy confirmed the bigtime oil price hike this Tuesday, March 17, 2026. Here are the expected increase on the costs of the fuel offered by some gasoline stations:

Recently, Pres. Bongbong Marcos spoke on the efforts of the government amid the oil crisis in the Philippines. Through a video statement, the Chief Executive highlighted that the government is coming up with some initiatives to help the Filipinos who are greatly affected by the situation just like the public utility vehicle (PUV) drivers, the farmers, and the fishermen.
Pres. Bongbong Marcos also stressed that the Philippine government will be providing cash relief to jeepney, tricycle, and TNVS drivers. For the fishermen and farmers, the government is set to extend fuel subsidies as per the President.
“Walang iwanan, walang maiiwan sa pagharap natin sa hamong ito. Asahan ninyo ang patuloy naming paggawa ng mga hakbang upang maibsan ang mabigat ng epekto ng kaganapan sa Gitnang Silangan sa taumbayan,” Marcos Jr. said in his video message.
Countless Filipinos rushed to fuel stations and fill up their tanks before another bigtime oil price hike occurs. Previously, Pres. Bongbong Marcos flew to New York for a two-day working visit. He talked with an official of the United Nations over the war in the Middle East which is affecting several other nations.
Upon his return, Pres. Bongbong Marcos assured the Filipinos that he’s talking to other countries for oil supply. Previously, Iran warned the world to get ready for $200 a barrel oil.
