Students in Iloilo Public High School Required to Use Transparent Bags for Safety
Iloilo public high school has started to require the students to use transparent bags to ensure safety inside the campus.
Students of Parara National High School in Tigbauan, Iloilo are now required to use transparent bags as part of the school’s efforts to strengthen security on campus.
The new policy was introduced following several shooting incidents reported in schools in different parts of the country. School officials believe that using clear bags can make it easier to check what students are carrying before they enter their classrooms.

The initiative was officially implemented on August 3, 2026. However, the school had already informed parents about the plan in July. During a general meeting held on July 1, parents were presented with the proposal and agreed to support the new safety measure.
Under the policy, students have their transparent bags inspected at the school gate before they are allowed to enter the campus. Security personnel and school staff can immediately see the contents of the bags, making the inspection faster and more straightforward.
The inspection is mainly intended to prevent students from bringing weapons or other dangerous items into the school. By allowing school personnel to see the contents of each bag, officials hope to identify prohibited items before they can pose a threat to students, teachers, and other members of the school community.

The new rule has also received attention because schools across the country continue to look for ways to improve safety following reports of violence on school grounds.
While the measure may require students and their families to adjust to a new type of school bag, officials hope it will help create a safer learning environment.
