Kitty Duterte Shows Support for Rodrigo Duterte Amid ICC Case
KITTY DUTERTE – Following Rodrigo Duterte’s latest appearance at the ICC, his daughter Kitty Duterte took to social media to express her unwavering support for the former president.
Kitty Duterte has publicly expressed her support for her father, former President Rodrigo Duterte, following his appearance at a hearing before the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague, Netherlands, on Wednesday, September 16.
The former president’s daughter took to Instagram on Thursday, September 17, where she posted a photo showing her father during the proceedings. Along with the image, Kitty shared a message reflecting her admiration and support for Duterte amid his ongoing legal proceedings before the international tribunal.
“Conviction, volition and the state of equanimity in any affliction,” she wrote in the caption.
Kitty followed the statement with another message that strongly emphasized her unwavering support for her father.
“Loud and proud, through and through— forever and always the most unapologetic about you.”
Rodrigo Duterte’s appearance at the ICC hearing marked a notable moment, as it was his first public appearance at the court since his detention in The Hague following his arrest in March 2025.
The former Philippine leader was taken into custody based on an arrest warrant issued by the ICC in connection with allegations involving crimes against humanity. The case stems from the deadly anti-drug campaign carried out during his administration, which has been the subject of an investigation by the international court.
Duterte has remained in detention in The Hague while the legal proceedings continue. His case is being handled by the ICC as prosecutors and the defense prepare for the next stages of the proceedings.
The September 16 hearing was part of the court’s continuing proceedings involving the former president. His attendance also gave the public a glimpse of Duterte after more than a year since his arrest and transfer to the Netherlands.
According to the information provided by the court, Duterte’s trial is scheduled to begin on November 30, 2026. The upcoming proceedings are expected to determine the next phase of the case as both sides present their respective arguments and evidence.
For Kitty, however, the latest development was also an opportunity to publicly stand beside her father. Through her Instagram post, she conveyed that her support for the former president remains firm as he faces the ongoing ICC proceedings.
