One resident, Janet, said that even before reports of a supposed wakwak surfaced, some people already believed that Ronson was being affected by an evil spirit. She explained that the man was shouting and displaying unusual strength despite having recently been hospitalized due to low potassium levels.

Concerned neighbors and local faith healers gathered to help calm him down. Residents reportedly applied oil to his body and gave him herbal remedies, hoping to help him recover and return to his normal condition.

Adding to the mystery, another resident named Rene claimed that while approaching Ronson, he noticed a creature nearby. According to his account, the figure appeared to have glowing red eyes. He said the creature quickly moved away and climbed a coconut tree when people got closer.

Despite the claims, La Castellana Mayor Añejo Nicor said he does not believe in aswangs or wakwaks. The mayor explained that throughout his life, from childhood to adulthood and now as a public official, he has never personally encountered such creatures.
