Man Pretending to Be a Delivery Rider Nabbed Over Series of Thefts in Quezon City
A 32-year-old man who allegedly posed as a delivery rider was arrested after being caught on CCTV stealing cash and gadgets from a restaurant in Quezon City.
Based on a report by ABS-CBN News, the CCTV footage showed the suspect parking his motorcycle outside a restaurant in Barangay St. Ignatius at past 4 a.m. on October 19, 2026. He then entered the establishment and searched the place.
The suspect managed to open the cash box and allegedly took around P50,000 in cash, as well as a laptop. The employees only found out about the break-in the following morning.

“Nung pagpasok nila, napansin nila na ang pintuan ng kanilang establishment ay bukas na,” said PLt. Col. Geoffrey Lim, commander of the Project 4 Police Station. He explained that the workers saw the open door and found the counter and other items inside the restaurant in disarray.
Before the incident, the same man was also reportedly caught on camera at another Quezon City restaurant carrying a stolen cellphone. This prompted the police to conduct a follow-up operation.
According to Lim, the suspect is not from Quezon City but is a resident of Manila. He was arrested on October 27 near the Quezon City Hall.
The police investigation showed that the man allegedly used different delivery rider outfits to carry out his modus. He would reportedly survey an area first to look for an establishment he could break into, then leave and return with his tools.
Authorities also recovered in Manila the motorcycle he used. Lim said the suspect would change some of its parts after committing a crime so it would not be detected.
The suspect reportedly has previous theft records, including incidents at a nail spa on September 21 and a coffee shop on September 17, both in Quezon City and also caught on CCTV.
He declined to give a statement and said he would explain his side in court. He is now detained at the custodial facility of the Project 4 Police Station while the police check whether he belongs to a group.
