Traffic Offender Tries to Escape from MMDA Official Gabriel Go During Apprehension

A traffic offender attempted to escape after being stopped by Gabriel Go, head of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Special Operations Group – Task Force for Road Clearing.

On his Facebook page, Gabriel Go shared a video showing the traffic offender trying to flee to avoid being apprehended. The post quickly went viral and received various reactions from netizens.

In the video, Go can be seen approaching and trying to stop the motorcycle rider for not wearing a helmet. However, instead of following the officer’s instructions, the rider suddenly sped away in an attempt to escape the MMDA personnel.

Another man managed to block the rider’s path. With no clear way to continue, the motorist decided to abandon his motorcycle and run away from the scene.

MMDA personnel then inspected the abandoned motorcycle and discovered that it did not have the necessary documents. They also noticed something suspicious about its condition, raising concerns that the vehicle could be stolen.

The agency plans to coordinate with the Highway Patrol Group (HPG) to check the motorcycle’s records and determine its ownership.

The coordination is expected to help authorities establish whether the motorcycle has any connection to a reported theft or other violations.

Meanwhile, authorities are continuing their search for the unidentified rider who left the motorcycle behind and fled the area.

The video reminds motorists of the importance of following traffic rules and cooperating with authorities during inspections. Wearing a helmet and carrying the proper vehicle documents are among the basic responsibilities of motorcycle riders.

The MMDA has yet to release further details about the identity of the motorist and the results of the ongoing investigation.

The social media users expressed their reactions to the video:
