Boarding House Break-In Frightens 2 Students in Kalibo
Two students in Kalibo, Aklan were left shaken after an unknown man allegedly entered their rented room at a boarding house.
In the early hours of Friday (September 11, 2026), two female students identified as Anne Jesandra and Cris Khillee were awakened at around 3:15 a.m. by unusual noises coming from inside their room at a boarding house located in Capitol Site, Barangay Estancia.
The two ladies were surprised to find a stranger already inside. The unexpected sight caused panic, prompting the students to immediately seek help from other tenants staying in the boarding house.
The suspect quickly fled the area after hearing the victims call for assistance. Fortunately, no one was hurt during the incident, and no belongings were reported missing.
Police officers who responded to the case conducted an investigation and examined the room. During their inspection, they recovered a bladed weapon believed to have been left behind by the intruder.
Authorities also discovered that several jalousie window panels had been removed, which investigators believe was the route used by the suspect to gain access to the room.
Although nothing was stolen, the experience left a strong emotional impact on the two students. The victims, who had only recently moved into the area, were deeply frightened by what happened and are still trying to recover from the ordeal.
The incident has also raised concerns among other boarding house residents about safety and security, especially during nighttime hours. Many are hoping for additional precautions to prevent similar incidents from happening again.
The Kalibo Municipal Police Station continues its investigation and is working to identify and locate the suspect. Authorities are encouraging anyone with information that may help the case report it to the police as soon as possible.
