4-Year-Old Boy Lost His Life After Being Hit by SUV in Manila
A four-year-old boy begging for alms died after he was accidentally run over by an SUV at the corner of España and Antipolo Streets in Manila.
On Tuesday noon (October 28, 2025), a young boy lost his life after being hit by an SUV while begging for alms along the road.
According to the initial report from the Manila Police District-Traffic Bureau, the incident happened around 12:30 p.m. at the corner of España and Antipolo Streets. The boy was said to be moving between vehicles that were stopped at a red light, knocking on windows and asking for coins from drivers and passengers.
When the traffic light turned green, the vehicles began to move forward. Because of the boy’s small size, the SUV driver reportedly did not notice him crossing in front of the vehicle.
The driver only realized something was wrong when he felt that the car had rolled over something. He immediately stopped to check and found the child lying on the ground, bloodied and unconscious.
The boy was rushed to the Jose Reyes Memorial Medical Center, but doctors declared him dead on arrival. Authorities are still trying to determine the identity of the child and to locate his mother or guardians, who may have been with him begging along the streets.

The SUV driver is now detained at the Manila Police District Traffic Bureau while police prepare to file charges related to the incident.
