Robin Padilla shared this post favoring Migz Zubiri
Senator Robin Padilla defended his colleague, Senate Majority Leader Migz Zubiri, regarding the latter’s expressed exhaustion from his duties as a senator-judge in the impeachment trial against Vice President Sara Duterte.
Under the Senate’s current schedule, the impeachment proceedings are set to take place from Monday through Wednesday mornings, followed by plenary sessions in the afternoon.
“Sa totoo lang, Mr. Presiding officer, pagod na pagod na ako. 12 hours a day po tayo dito. From 9 to 9, nandito po tayo,” Zubiri said.
The Senate Majority Leader also said that senators are balancing their legislative duties by attending morning impeachment proceedings before moving to the Senate plenary session in the afternoon to debate bills.
He also noted that this intensive schedule might disrupt their scheduled October break.
In a Facebook post on September 2, Senator Robin Padilla stated that the sentiments expressed by Senator Migz Zubiri were not merely his own, but were shared by other senators as well.
“Ang kanyang sinambit na pagod na pagod na siya ay hindi po isang pagrereklamo kundi ang katotohanan naming lahat,” he said.
Padilla also said that Zubiri is a hardworking senator and that he just wanted to relay that they are squeezing their schedules.
“Napakasipag na tao ni Senator Migz!Ang ibig lamang niyang sabihin at iparating ay kung paano namin mapagkakasya ang oras, araw, at ang isang linggo sa patong-patong na trabaho na may masusing pag-aaral.” the actor-politician said.
Padilla stressed that complaining is not in Sen. Migz’s nature; in fact, he is someone they look up to as a former Senate President and the current, seasoned Senate Majority Leader.
“Mahal niya ang trabaho niya sapagkat mahal niya ang taong-bayan at ang bansa. Ang pagod ay sa katawan lamang, pero ang kanyang puso at isipan para sa taong-bayan ay walang kapaguran,” Padilla said.
