Ate Gay Remains in ICU as Family Requests Continued Prayers and Support

ATE GAY – The comedian is in critical condition and currently depends on life-support machines, according to a medical update released by his family on Friday, October 30, 2026.

The comedian, whose real name is Gil Morales, was admitted to Asian Hospital and Medical Center (AHMC) in Muntinlupa City on October 17 after experiencing difficulty breathing. His hospitalization came two days after his living funeral, which was held at Forest Lake Memorial Parks in Biñan, Laguna.

According to his family, Ate Gay was diagnosed with septic shock and acute respiratory failure caused by pneumonia. His condition required intensive treatment and close monitoring in the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The family explained that they chose AHMC because he had already been receiving cancer treatment there, and his doctors were familiar with his medical history and previous treatments.

Although Ate Gay has recovered from the initial septic shock, his condition became more serious after he suffered a stroke on October 29. The stroke caused damage to the right side of his brain. He remains dependent on life-support machines to support his body’s essential functions, while doctors continue to monitor his vital signs and organ functions. His condition remains critical and guarded.

The family also explained that they had considered transferring him to another hospital because of the growing medical expenses. However, doctors advised against moving him because his condition was still too serious, making the transfer dangerous. For now, he will remain in the ICU while medical professionals closely observe his condition for any signs of improvement.

Despite the increasing hospital bills, the family continues to seek financial and medical assistance from government agencies, private individuals, charitable institutions, and other organizations. They also expressed their gratitude to everyone who has provided financial support, encouragement, and prayers.
