The ICC makes a clarification on the alleged arrest warrant of Senator Bato Dela Rosa.
The International Criminal Court (ICC) clarified that it has not issued any new arrest warrant against Senator Bato dela Rosa.
On Saturday, May 9, the International Criminal Court (ICC) clarified that they have not issued any new arrest warrants against Senator Ronald dela Rosa. This is contrary to the allegations circulating online.

In a statement released Saturday, ICC spokesperson Oriane Maillet said there are currently no “public warrants” issued in relation to the Philippines. This included those associated with the Senate’s top absentee senator.
After topping the list of “poorly performing” senators based on a survey amid his ICC controversy, he became the top absentee, which began in November 2025. He has a total of 31 absences from July 28, 2025, to March 18, 2026.
“No public arrest warrants have been issued,” ICC spokesperson Oriane Maillet told reporters in a message. The clarification also follows previous instances where false claims about supposed ICC warrants against dela Rosa circulated online and were later debunked by fact-checkers and media organizations.
“We cannot speculate on these matters or on any confidential information,” Maillet added. Based on a report from Rappler, according to their “high-level source,” the supposed “warrant” has yet to be transmitted to the PCTC.
Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) chief Juanito Victor “Jonvic” Remulla also said that they have not received any information yet regarding the matter. Based on their last information, Dela Rosa is currently in the Davao Region, while other sources stated he is in Mindanao.
To also recall, the ICC Office of the Prosecutor also revealed in official documents that Dela Rosa, along with seven others, are alleged co-perpetrators in former President Rodrigo Duterte’s crimes against humanity case.
