Prices of Flowers & Candles Being Monitored by DTI Ahead of Undas
The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) conducted a price monitoring of flowers and candles ahead of Undas.
On Friday morning (October 24, 2025), DTI Secretary Cristina Roque led the conduction of special price and supply monitoring operation in Sampaloc, Manila, as Filipinos prepare for Undas, 2025.
The inspection aimed to ensure that prices of flowers, candles, and bottled water remain fair and that supplies are sufficient for the upcoming observance of All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days. Secretary Roque explained that while flower prices do not follow a fixed standard, vendors in Dangwa were reminded to keep their prices reasonable during the holiday rush.

“Yung mga prices ng bulaklak, we don’t have any standard, we just went around Dangwa to tell them na huwag silang magtaas ng presyo,” Roque said.
However, the DTI has set suggested retail prices (SRP) for items like candles and bottled water to guide both sellers and consumers. The complete SRP list is available on the DTI’s official website and social media pages.
“Ang importante sa kanila alam nila kung magkano ang presyo so we cannot discriminate anyone selling,” she added.

The agency emphasized that consumers should always be aware of the correct prices to avoid being overcharged.
Joining Secretary Roque during the monitoring were Assistant Secretary Gino Mallari of the Fair Trade Group and Officer-in-Charge Director Marimel Porciuncula of the Fair Trade Enforcement Bureau.
They inspected flower stalls in Dangwa, a grocery store in Sta. Cruz, Manila, and even stores selling Christmas lights in Dapitan, Quezon City, as part of early preparations for the holiday season.
DTI also assured the public that there will be no price increase for basic goods and prime commodities until the end of the year. The move aims to help Filipino families manage their expenses amid the series of upcoming holidays.
