Family in Puerto Princesa City Questions Clinic Over Delayed Hospital Transfer, Which Leads to Patient’s Death

A family in Puerto Princesa City has questioned a clinic in Puerto Princesa City after the death of a 47-year-old patient following delayed hospital transfer.

The victim identified as Floribelle Tagiam Serticio was reportedly suffering from severe body pain, vomiting, and dizziness on September 13, 2026. Concerned about her worsening condition, she and her family decided that she needed to be admitted to a hospital for proper medical care.

According to her relatives, they went to the Luzviminda Satellite Clinic expecting that an ambulance would immediately take her to a hospital because she was already struggling with her condition.

However, the family claimed that they were repeatedly told that her case was not considered an emergency and that even if she were taken to the hospital, she might not be attended right away and could possibly be sent back home.

The family said they felt discouraged by the response they received and became increasingly worried as Floribelle’s condition continued to worsen.

As time passed, the patient reportedly began experiencing more serious symptoms. Her family said she eventually started having convulsions, signaling that her health was rapidly declining. It was only after her condition became more critical that an ambulance transported her to a public hospital.

Despite efforts to save her, Floribelle later passed away. Her death left behind three young children and a grieving family struggling to understand what happened during the hours leading up to the tragedy.

Relatives are now raising concerns about the process followed before the patient was transferred to the hospital. They believe that quicker medical intervention may have given her a better chance of survival.

The family has already brought its concerns to the City Health Office, which has assured them that an investigation will be conducted. Authorities are expected to review the circumstances surrounding the incident and determine whether proper procedures were followed in handling the patient’s case.
