Man in Cagayan Denies Feeding Pet Puppy to Python
A man in Gattaran, Cagayan has denied claims that he intentionally fed his pet puppy to a python after a video involving the animals gained attention online.
Many netizens expressed their concerns after the video was shared on social media. Some viewers believed that the man had allowed the snake to attack the puppy, leading to criticism and accusations of animal cruelty.
However, an investigation conducted by the Gattaran Police found no evidence to support the allegations. Authorities personally checked on the puppy and confirmed that it was alive, healthy, and in good condition.
The police said there was no sufficient basis to conclude that the animal had been harmed or deliberately fed to the snake.
According to the resident, the incident was misunderstood by many people who saw the video. He explained that the python had already been dead when he found it and brought it home. Curious about the snake, he placed it on the ground where his pet puppy happened to approach it.
The man said that as the puppy came near, the python’s body suddenly wrapped around the animal. He recorded the moment to show that a snake could still coil around an object even after it had died.
He also clarified that the purpose of the video was simply to demonstrate that the dead python was still capable of making a coiling movement. The caption was meant to explain that observation and was not intended to show harm being done to any animal.
The resident stressed that he had no intention of hurting his pets or using them to interact with the snake. He also asked for understanding from the public and apologized for any confusion caused by the video.
