Mother Expresses Frustration After Losing P30k Meant for Child’s Tuition While Running Errands
A mother in Kalibo, Aklan seeks help after losing P30,000 meant for her child’s tuition fees, household bills, and other important expenses.
On Thursday, September 17, 2026, the woman, identified only by the alias “Jing,” went to the Kalibo Police Station to report the incident. Fighting back tears, the 39-year-old shared how the money suddenly went missing while she was running errands in town.
According to Jing, she withdrew P30,000 from a bank at around 11:30 in the morning. After receiving the cash, she placed it inside a white envelope and kept it in her sling bag.
She then spent several hours around Kalibo while waiting for her child’s classes to end. During that time, she visited different places, including the local shopping center, where she bought some necessary items.
However, while checking her bag later in the day, she was shocked to discover that the envelope containing the money was no longer there. Realizing what had happened, she immediately retraced her steps and returned to the places she had visited.
Jing also asked people in the area if anyone had seen the missing envelope, but her search did not produce any results.
The woman believes the money may have accidentally fallen while she was riding a tricycle. Because she could not locate it on her own, she decided to seek assistance from the police.
The incident was officially recorded by the Kalibo Police Station, and authorities are expected to review available CCTV footage that may help determine what happened to the missing cash.
The money had been sent by Jing’s husband, who is currently working overseas. The funds were intended to cover their child’s tuition fees, pay household bills, and settle existing debts.
The mother is now appealing to the public for help and hopes that anyone who may have found the money will report it to the proper authorities so it can be returned to its rightful owner.
