Client Who Brought 71 People for 25-Person Booking Allegedly Refused to Pay Additional Fees

A resort owner issued a warning after a client allegedly booked a package good for only 25 people but arrived with a total of 71 guests.

Recently, Lei Franista, the owner of a private resort, posted the incident on Facebook to warn fellow resort operators, especially those in the Batasan Hills area of Quezon City. The post quickly gained attention and raised discussions among netizens about proper booking practices and respect for business rules.

According to Franista, the client initially inquired about a group of around 30 people. However, when the booking date arrived, a total of 71 guests reportedly entered and used the resort facilities. This meant that 46 people exceeded the number included in the package.

Resort staff reportedly informed the group about the corresponding charges for the extra guests. However, the client allegedly refused to pay, saying they had not seen or read the rates and details that had been sent before the booking.

Franista explained that the complete package information, including additional fees for extra guests, had already been provided to the client. The resort owner stressed that private resorts have guest limits for a reason and that paying for a package does not automatically allow an unlimited number of visitors.

The owner also pointed out that a larger crowd results in higher consumption of water and electricity, heavier use of the swimming pool and restrooms, increased waste, and more work for resort staff.

These expenses are among the reasons resorts set guest limits and charge additional fees when those limits are exceeded. The resort reportedly even offered a discounted rate for the extra guests. Despite this, the additional charges were still allegedly left unpaid.
