Robin Padilla had this statement about VP Sara Duterte’s impeachment complaint
Senator Robin Padilla asserted that he will practice fairness when it comes to Vice President Sara Duterte’s impeachment trial.
Padilla is one of the vocal politicians supporting the Duterte family. From former President Rodrigo Duterte to VP Sara, the actor-politician was visible in supporting them.
Padilla even went to The Hague, where FPRRD is being detained by the International Criminal Court (ICC) now, just to express his love and support for the former president. The Senator also led a signature campaign for FPRRD’s sake.
Padilla even said that FPRRD is a modern-day hero, but this did not sit well with many netizens.
When it comes to VP Sara Duterte, Sen. Robin Padilla is also a known ally. Previously, the Senator even slammed the impeachment hearing of the Vice President. He said that politics is everywhere, and this is only in the Philippines.
However, in a recent statement, based on the report from Bandera, Padilla stressed that even though he is known to be an ally of Vice President Sara Duterte, he made it clear that he will be fair and neutral if he becomes a judge in the former’s impeachment trial.
Padilla stressed that he took an oath as a senator for the Constitution and the people.
“Kami ay may oath, okay. Ang oath namin ay sa bayan, malinaw naman ‘yan. Lahat naman ng senador dito nag-oath, loyalty namin ay sa Konstitusyon. Nanumpa ka, so siyempre ‘yun ‘yun. Pero iba ‘yung pulitikal, iba ‘yun oath, kailangan maintindihan natin ‘yun,” the actor-politician said.
Padilla added that he believed in the law after being imprisoned for several years.
“Ako naman eh, matagal na akong, nangulungan na nga ako eh. Ibig sabihin, matagal na akong naniwala sa batas. Marami ngang pulitiko diyan hindi naniniwala sa batas, ako naniwala sa batas, nangulungan nga ako, Ibig sabihin parehas ako,” he stressed.
At the same time, Padilla expressed his sadness over the events in which VP Sara Duterte was involved.
