11-Year-Old Boy Loses His Life After Lightning Strikes Their Home
An 11-year-old boy tragically lost his life after being struck by lightning inside their home in Bacolod City.
Lightning is a strong burst of electricity from the sky, and when it strikes, it can cause serious harm. People who are hit may get burned, faint, or even lose their lives. Buildings or houses that are struck can catch fire or have damaged wiring and appliances.

On Wednesday afternoon, October 15, 2025, around 3:40 p.m, the young boy was lying down and hugging his mother in Hacienda Consolacion Limhap, Barangay Granada, Bacolod Cit, when the incident happened.
Barangay Captain Armando Vito said the lightning entered through a small gap in the bamboo wall of their house and directly hit the child. The strike burned a part of his back hair and damaged the shorts he was wearing. The force of the lightning caused severe injuries that led to his death.
Captain Vito shared that the boy’s grandfather was also hit by lightning years ago in the same location, raising concern among the locals about possible environmental or geographical factors that make the area prone to such incidents.
Due to the incident, the barangay plans to consult experts to study the area and determine whether there is something in the environment that attracts lightning. The goal is to find ways to protect residents and prevent another tragedy from happening.
The community mourns the loss of the young boy, who was described by neighbors as kind and cheerful.
The authorities are reminding residents to take extra precautions during thunderstorms, such as staying away from open spaces and unplugging electrical devices even while indoors.
