Acting vice mayor of Davao City says no to ban Vice Ganda following his jokes about the former president.
Several people urge Davao City to ban Vice Ganda, and FPRRD’s grandson, Rigo Duterte, has this to say about the appeal.
“Nothing beats a jet ski holiday, right now from Manila to the West Philippine Sea via jet ski. Get unlimited water bombing from Chinese vessels and a free trip to The Hague by the ICC (International Criminal Court). Promo applies to DDS (Diehard Duterte Supporters) only. Pinklawans and BBMs are prohibited. Huwag niyo akong subukan, mga pu****i** niyo (Don’t try my patience, you sons of b******)”

This was the joke that sparked outrage among the avid supporters of former president Rodrigo Duterte, who is currently detained at The Hague. This was the joke Vice Ganda expressed during his concert at the Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City, with Asia’s Songbird, Regine Velasquez.
Harry Roque fired back at Vice, accusing her of worsening the situation for the former leader she once admired. He remarked, “Tatay Digong was already on the ground—imprisoned, 80 years old, and seemingly nearing death in jail—yet you still kicked him while he was down.”
Meanwhile, Palace Press Officer Claire Castro defended Vice, expressing that there’s nothing wrong with the joke as it was accordingly referenced from the claims that came straight from the mouth of the former president.
There were also calls to ban the superstar comedian in Davao City, but the acting vice mayor of Davao City, Rigo Duterte, grandson of the former president, rejected the appeal. He is a councilor and son of Davao City 1st District Rep. Paolo “Pulong” Duterte. Since Duterte is detained, Davao City Vice Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte is currently the acting mayor.
To recall, FPRRD won as Davao City’s mayor in the midterm election.
According to the acting vice mayor, declaring Vice a persona non grata doesn’t matter. Based on the statement, it was just a “baseless, attention-seeking antics from performers desperate for relevance.” They have other things more worthy to put their focus on.
It added such “cheap insults and distasteful jokes made for clout” will not distract them.
Instead, he criticized Vice, urging the comedian to show the same dedication, discipline, and respect that Davao’s leaders and citizens demonstrate daily, so she would be remembered for more than mere shallow laughs and headline-grabbing comments.
