Female Customer Drew Flaks Online After Biting Doughnut & Returning It on Tray of Convenience Store
A female customer went viral and faced criticism online after allegedly biting into a doughnut and returning it to a tray at a convenience store.
Recently, Facebook user Riolou Canlas shared a video showing the woman taking a doughnut, biting into it, and immediately putting it back on the tray before picking up another one. The video quickly spread online and elicited various reactions from netizens.
In the video, she could be seen taking a doughnut from a Mister Donut display, biting into it, and then placing the partially eaten item back on the tray. She then reached for another doughnut.
Customers said ready-to-eat food should never be handled in such a manner, especially when the product is placed back with other items that may later be purchased by someone else.
The video also circulated quickly after another food-handling incident involving a convenience store gained attention online. In that video, a woman was accused of touching and licking hotdogs before returning them to the food display.
The latest incident has renewed discussions about the need for customers to properly handle food products in stores. Unlike packaged items, exposed doughnuts and other ready-to-eat products can easily be contaminated when touched or bitten by customers.
Food safety concerns are particularly serious in stores where products are placed within easy reach of shoppers. Any item that has been visibly tampered with should be removed from the display and properly disposed of to prevent another customer from unknowingly purchasing it.
The woman’s Facebook profile was later reported to have been placed on private settings as the video continued to spread online.
