Davao Cong. Paolo Duterte Releases Statement on Protest Rallies
PAOLO DUTERTE – The Davao Congressman released a statement wherein he hit the alleged “Plastik” during protest rallies.
Currently, there is a strong call on the Philippine government for accountability amid the supposed massive corruption issues in the country. Last September 21, thousands of Filipinos gathered on the streets to protest against corruption.

The said protest action was called as the “Trillion Peso March”. Undeniably, during the said rally, there were other calls while the main call was for accountability. Another rally is set to be held on Sunday, November 30.
Ahead of the protest action, Akbayan claimed that they will not allow Vice President Sara Duterte to benefit from the call for accountability while stressing that Pres. Bongbong Marcos should explain the supposed massive corruption under his administration.

Recently, ahead of the protest rally, Davao Cong. Paolo Duterte released a statement wherein he claimed that the protest is not the problem. According to him, the supposed problem are the pretentious rallyists who join the event.

“Tama na ang drama. Ang tunay na problema hindi ang protesta, kundi ang pagiging plastik ng ilan: sa rally raw para sa “demokrasya,” puwede ang placard na “Sara Resign,” pero bawal ang “Marcos Resign.” Ang tawag diyan ay hindi prinsipyo — scripting,” the Davao Congressman said.
While he did not directly state who he is referring to, Davao Cong. Paolo Duterte also stated in his post that there are allegedly other ways to tell “bangag” that he is no longer deserving of serving the Filipino people. In his statement, the son of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte called on the Filipinos who truly love peace and orderliness to not let themselves be used by those groups who allegedly have different intentions.
“Ang tunay na patriotismo ay hindi nasusukat sa sigaw, sa rally, o sa hashtag. Nakikita ito sa paggalang sa proseso, sa malinaw na adhikain para sa buong bansa, at sa kakayahang tumulong nang hindi sinisira ang iba,” the younger Duterte said.
According to Cong. Paolo Duterte, he assures the Filipino people that they will not allow the chaos, destruction, or opportunism to forcefully seize power. In his statement, he stressed that the process should be through the ballots and the process of succession.

Amid the calls for the President to resign, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte recently confirmed that she is ready to be the president if Marcos Jr. resigns.
